    Great for running line behind a Skagit head

    I use this for running line behind a Skagit head (a type of fly fishing line/technique). It has worked really well so far. No complaints.

    When I pull it off the reel before a cast, it has a bit of twist from being stored on the reel. But stretching it by pulling it between two tightly clenched fingers loosens it right up. It lays much straighter, and stays that way until it it stored on the reel again for some time.

    Of course the same thing happens when receiving a new spool of line, it has some twist in it from being on the spool. I like to lay out my line so I can measure the amount going onto the reel. Rather than stretching all the line to get it to lay straight on the floor, I just put the whole spool in a pot of hot tap water (the temperature of the hot water coming out of my tap) for 10 minutes or so. That relaxes the line quite nicely, allowing it to lay out straight on the floor while I measure it.
