The first time I purchased a pack of Extruded Bloodworm was in the summer of 2012. I saw it at Dick's Sporting Goods and decided that I would keep it in my fishing bag just in case I ran out of live worms. The first time I used them (August 2012) I caught some of the largest Croaker I have ever caught, but wrote it off as a coincidence. I purchased more of them in March of 2013 and decided to do an actual head to head test for myself. On May 9, 2013 I went to Point Lookout State Park on Chesapeake Bay and fished for 9 hours. In that time I caught 15 Croaker, 12 of whom bit on the Extruded Bloodworm versus the 3 that went for the live bloodworms. The larger Croaker bit exclusively on the Extruded Bloodworm.
I appreciate that the product works for both bottom fishing and as a lure. I have managed to catch multiple species of fish using this product and I am now confident that I can forgo purchasing expensive and perishable bloodworms and still have success.
