COLUMBIA, S.C. - Berkley pro Davy Hite earned his eighth career Bassmaster victory this past weekend on Pickwick Lake. The Ninety Six, S.C., native cashed a $100,000 check with his four-day bag of 84-pounds, 9-ounces. Hite edged fellow Berkley pro Bobby Lane in the event, which also earned Hite his 14th Bassmaster Classic qualification.

"I don't take for granted winning No. 8, I promise you," said Hite. "This is as meaningful to me as the first one I ever won. It's like a drug, I can't describe the way it feels to win one of these things. This victory means just as much to me as No. 1 did. This is one that I will cherish.”

Every fish he weighed in was on a 5-inch Berkley Hollow Belly, which he rigged it with either a 1/2- or 3/4-ounce swimbait head with a 5/0 hook, using glue to secure the bait to the lead. Hite tied each Hollow Belly on with Berkley Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon.

Another great Berkley pro cashed in with the new Berkley HAVOC Pit Boss. Jared Lintner caught the Berkley Big Bass of the Tournament. The 8-pound, 10-ounce giant was brought to the boat using the HAVOC Pit Boss, which earned Lintner a $500 cash bonus.

Next up for the Bassmaster Elite Series is the TroKar Battle on the Bayou, April 14-17 on Toledo Bend Reservoir out of Many, La.
